Day in the Life of a Judge - Judge Hannan

Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a Judge is like? The County Court of Victoria has 65 Judges and 3 Reserve Judges sitting in 3 Divisions. Judge Lisa Hannan is the Head of the Criminal Division, which is the largest Division of the Court. Her day starts before dawn and involves meetings, administrative duties and of course, court cases. Former ABC journalist and podcast producer Alison Caldwell recently spent a day with Judge Hannan.

Courts Open Day 2016

On Saturday 21 May, courts and tribunals in Melbourne opened their doors for a series of events, tours, exhibitions and mock trials for Courts Open Day. Judges were available to talk to people and answer questions about legal proceedings in a relaxed and informal setting.
