New practice notes

The Common Law Division has published 14 practice notes. The updates align with new court practices and procedures regarding legislation, modernisation with technology, and some changes in response to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Seven new practice notes have been published:

  • Applications for approval of compromise
  • Applications to file a notice of ceasing to act
  • Applications to take evidence by deposition
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Judicial mediation
  • Serious injury applications
  • Subpoenas

In addition to this, seven existing practice notes have been updated:

  • Applications by a solicitor for costs in work injury damages claims
  • Common Law Division
  • Confiscation List
  • Medical List
  • Release of recordings in civil proceedings
  • Self-represented litigation
  • WorkCover List

The Court has also updated the Common Law Division: arrangements and expectations during coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions.
