Building List

The Building List is one of four lists of the Commercial Division Registry and hears proceedings concerning agreements related to building works.

The Building List consists of proceedings concerning any agreement related to the:

  • design or carrying out of building works
  • supervision or inspection of the construction of building works
  • performance by an architect, designer, engineer, quantity surveyor or other expert of any services in relation to the design or construction or the supervision or inspection of building works
  • manufacture or provision of any materials for inclusion in building works.

Practice note

Any correspondence for cases in the BuildingList should be sent by email to the Commercial Registry:

Orders on the papers

Practitioners are encouraged to submit orders on the papers to the Judicial Registrars as early as possible, prior to the directions hearing date. This allows the orders to be processed without requiring the attendance of the parties' practitioners.

A standard set of Consent Orders is available in the 2018 Orders booklet - Commercial Division.
