The Court's Role

The Vision and Mission statements of the County Court are underpinned by the characteristics of ‘A Just Society’ 1 principally:
  1. Ensuring timely access to affordable justice whilst recognising the principle of judicial independence.
  2. Providing Victorians with an accessible responsive and innovative legal system.

Vision

The County Court’s vision is to provide a high quality, accessible and efficient court system that ensures justice for all in the community at least cost.


Mission

In co-operation with those responsible for Court administration, to achieve improvements to the Court’s infrastructure, governance, and case management arrangements so that the Court will continue to lead in the delivery of high quality, accessible, and understandable justice services in the jurisdictions assigned to it by the Parliament, at least cost to the community and litigants.
